Manaj: You are at a juncture in your career where you can make important choices. Please, please make the choice of rejecting the image you are cultivating in your documentary. If not for Black women, please do so for your daughter...for you self-respect. You need not be wholly "positive," but you don't have to degrade yourself and us-- we don't have to be b*itches, hos, and n*ggers. As Spike Lee said, 'WAKE UP!'

Manaj,
What ever you do make sure it is positive for yourself as well as others that may look up to you. Please do not fall into the categories of the other well knowns to where they are degrading themselves thinking that it looks good. But in actuality they are3 making themselves look foolish.

Please, you obviously have talent. Surely there are other things to rap about. Don't be a victim of the recording industry. Especially being a Black woman!

Peace sis! I must say, even as much as I agree with the other commenters about positive images, the greatest image you can portray is the truth. If what you speak in your music is 100% you, then rep yourself. You alone have the responsibility of teaching your daughter the diff between what you grew to become and what you hope for her. I'm also an MC with children, and I say some things (and have done some things) I hope my seeds never say or do. But, at the end of the day, I keep it 100, and that's more than I can say for some of these so-called positive MC's. My message is revolution, because that's what I believe in. I'm sure you have more than one side. Do YOU mami!! 100
